I will dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
